Broken Valve cover bolt

First let me introduce myself, been a mustang owner for about a year, have a 2006 mustang GT (Satin Silver) stock besides the CAI. Actually been lurking around this forum just never joined till now.
While installing a CAI kit, K&N Aircharger 63 series to be exact, my dumbass over tightened the bolt on the valve cover and it broke leaving half of the bolt inside . How can I take that half out so I can replace it with a new bolt and where can I buy a new bolt? I broke the original bolt by installing the support bracket for the intake tube. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
kinghack

if you have never done this before and don't have the right tools then it might be easier to just have a shop fix it. it shouldn't cost very much just to have them do only the bolt that broke off.

Hey i have the very same intake i guesstimated the torque that i tighten it too and it hasnt called me any problems yet, so you must have really been pullin that thing!...lol, a lil advice for next time, even tho this still isnt a legit thing you should do, but what i did was when i tighten my valve cover bolt, when it got to the point where i had to think should i keep tighten it, i just put my wrench on another valve bolt and see how much strenght i would have to use to move one of the other ones, i would then try and apply the same pressure to the one you have to take out, that worked for me, but i understand you allready broke yours off so i dont kno wut to tell you i would cry if i did that....i guess just take it to a shop...

also, i lost a rachet attachment in my engine and never found it, should i just not worry about it since its been running fine, would you think it just fell out eventually while driving?

i did that when I first did my K&N, I overtightened the valve cover bolt.

get yourself an "easy out" tool, its like $3, you can do it yourself, very easy!

Going to a machine shop tommorow so they can take the bolt out, already ordered a new bolt and valve cover from a ford dealer, $5.25 for a bolt pretty steep, oh well. I would rather get someone experienced to remove it then try doing it myself and end up making more damage.

I know I'm off topic here but what do you guys think of a magnaflow full exhaust for my next mod. Was given a price estimate for it and was given $650 for parts and labor.

I did the magnaflow cat back (aggressive tone) and I wouldn't recommend it. The fit wasn't that great. Had to tweak the muffler hangers considerably so the mufflers wouldn't hit the frame rails. I've seen the same problem mentioned a few times at various forums. Sound is great though.
I would do it differently next time......
