Rear Louvers and c pillar scoops

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows how the rear louvers and c pillar scoops are installed on the 05 GT.

Ive read that the scoops come with double sided tape though that seems kind of sketchy to me. If that is the only type of mounting option is the tape applied to the window itself or the body. Also once mounted is it then impossible to clean the windows?

I would not recommend the side scoops. I have read many forums where, once installed, they had trouble with them in car washes and at high speeds, etc. They look cool, but I personally would not recommend them. They fall off the car.

As for the louveres, I ordered a pair of Roush pre-painted louvers (no drilling), but you still have to use the 3M two-sided tape that adheres to the paint. I sent them back. I don't want anything marring the factory paint, unless it us a chin spoiler where the tape is used underneath the bumper, etc. You can clean the windows once they are installed. There are two allen wrench nuts that you can loosen and the inside of the louver comes off for cleaning.

Hope this helps.

Yes that helped alot thank you.

I agree with you though i wouldnt want to use tape on my paint and what you said about the scoops makes sense...there would be alot of drag on them.

Do you know anything about the rear window louvers? Ive always thought they look cheap in the pictures ive seen but i saw a gt with them the other day and i couldnt believe how good it looked.

Check out this site: http://www.atlantamustang.com/windowscoops1.html

The louvers come painted or unpainted. It almost looks like they would mount directly to the window, without adhering to the paint, but I'm not sure.

If you find out anything, let me know.

here are my louevers, they come painted from the company at a great affordable price!, great piece, constructed well and you can see out of them! name of the co. is DG Custom Auto

and here are my side scoops! these are the xenon side scoops. I've had them on for a year and a half with NO PROBLEMS with them @ car washes or them falling off at all, they are held on pretty damn strong.
