Roll over protection on convertable GT

I have just bought the Coupe GT now cos I could not find any roll over protection( pop up bars etc) on the conv.
Ford were no use so as far as I could see there is nothing?
I had a BMW 328 conv in the UK and that had two strutts that popped up at the rear in case of roll over and the front screen frame would support the weight of the car.
I am amazed that the Mustange conv seems to have nothing?

I have read that the windshield frame will support the weight in case of a rollover, couldn't swear to it.

Livermoreperformance.com has rollbars, if you want to go that route...

Glad I didnt buy the conv and got the coupe instead!
I found lots of places that provide what looks like a roll bar but is cosmetic and just houses a high rear brake light. Looks great but no help in a roll over.
Conv drivers beware, look at the link from Pyyco bob, above, and think about getting some sort of protection.

Stay safe

Rollover 'vert

Those unfortunate pics of the rollover accident involved extremely unusual circumstances... So while a roll bar would be the smart thing to do... I'm looking at the odds...

Even in aggressive driving, I think you'd have to work extremely hard to flip a 3500-lb (GT) 2005+ 'Stang, especially when the top is retracted. With roof down, the vehicle is anything but top-heavy and in fact the weight of the roof's mechanicals and braces is redistributed below the beltline. That, combined with the 'Stang's very wide track to begin with...

I agree, I've been driving convertibles for 30 years and have never flipped one. The odds of flipping one are slight and the joy from driving with the top down far outweigh the odds or a rollover accident.

IF you're going to drive in fear that you will be in a rollover accident then you might as well stay in your house because the odds of an airplane falling out of the sky and killing you are about the same
