Help w/ why my GT might be running bad

I've come to you guys for help in finding out why my car might be running a bit crappy. I recently installed a set of BBK shorty headers, and the car was great, it even felt like it gained a bit of torq. I then had a Magnaflow off road x-pipe, w/ the cat-backs installed. After that it feels like the car isn't running as well. My check engine light came on (which should be because of the second O2 sensor), and the car even lost its throaty sound. Do you guys think that maybe the second O2 thinks that the car is running rich (because there is no cat), so its leaning out the mixture? I just purchased a C&L intake w/ xcalibrator 2 from Bamachips, but it hasn't gotten here yet. When I reflash the computer, do you guys believe that my problem should clear, or might there be something else happening.

Thanks in advance for your guys input!

the car is leaning out cause of the missing cats, thats why your getting the CEL light and the car is running like it is. for now, unplug the battery for 20 min and allow the computer to reset, the CEL will clear, you should be good until the cai/tuner arrives. if it comes up again, you can unplug the battery again if you wish or run the car with the CEL, it wont hurt the car, but if you like to get on it like hell, then i would take it easy on it until the tuner arrives. , once you upload the tune from the tuner, it will shut off the o2 sensors and you will no longer have a CEL light and your car will run fine!

Thanks Maverick! I wanted some reassurance that things would get better with the tune.

Should I also get the throaty sound back? I never put a mid-pipe on my old mustang, so Im not sure if this is a result of that or not.

+1....you shouldn't have any problems after putting the new tune in. you are gonna love the tunes from doug. which ones did you get? i got the 87 perf, 93 perf, and 93 race. there is a very noticable difference between the 93 perf and race. you can keep the race tune for around town, but you won't get nearly as good gas mileage.

As long as you told them about those mods when you ordered the tuner, all will be fine and dandy!!

Went to Prarie Hill about 20 min East of Waco. Little PoDunk Track, but it's fun! Depending on weather, I'll be there tomorrow night.

I haven't tried Temple. May check it out one of these days.
