MACs are good, but the drone is WORSE than the borla's, thats the one drawback to the MAC kit

Your catbacks are from the catalytic converter to tips.
Axlebacks, in the new stangs, are clamped on above/right after the rear axle, basically muffers, tips and a lil it of pipe.
The advantages are basically loudness. Axlebacks are where your gains are in the 05+ GTs, the X may give you a few ponies, but thats all, as the factory exhaust is very free-flowing...
Catback advantage is a few more horses, Axleback's advantage is more green in your wallet, and almost the same result.
I would say the loudest throatiest you might could get away with would be some flowmaster super 40s. I run longtubes, with a catted, but gutted, lol, Bassani X, and the super 40s.
Check out YouTube, and listen to exhaust setups on the 05+ models, until you find a setup that tunes to your ear perfectly.
MAC, Flowmaster, Borla/FRPP, Corsa, Bassani, or Magnaflow will be your best choices...

catbacks DO NOTHING FOR POWER ON THE NEW MUSTANGS!!!!! ONCE AGAIN, YOU ARE GETTING THE SAME PIPING YOU ALREADY HAVE ON YOUR CAR!! (STAINLESS STEEL, 2 1/2 INCH MENDREL BENT PIPING) DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CATBACKS. The new Mustangs are all about AXLE-BACKS, Mid-Pipes and Headers!

Hey Mav when you say the SLP's you know arnt legal in CA is that because of emissions or loudness?

If not for emissions im pretty sure i wont get ticketed for being to loud...well not around here anyways cops got better things to do.
