The engagement on my 06' is as smooth as silk, so much so that it's the favorate cluch of all my friends... It's unusual that you felt that in both the test drive and in your ride... Maybe your left leg is superhuman sensitive!

All I notice is that it makes a slight clicking sound when I press the clutch pedal, but my clutch is smooth

I know what you means, its almost like the throwout bearing is bad or something, but considering my 06 only has 2,700 miles on it, I find that hard to belive. I think its normal. I take mine to the dealer tomarrow to get the rear-end taken care ( TSB on rear noise during slow speed menuvering ), I was going to ask them about the clutch.... I will let you know what they say...

U know what im talkin about 1FAstFox! Yes it does kinda feel/sound like the throwout bearing is out. Kinda a smacking sound or knock. Not real loud. Maybe i am a little picky being that the transmission is pretty though on the car.

I also found it difficult to engage 2nd to third - so I changed the shifter bushings with some hard STEEDA urethane ones and my engagement has improved.

Ford said that the noise is normal, the service department head let me drive 3 brand spanking new mustangs and every one of them made the same noise...

My 5 gear car clunks if you aren't bang on smooth with it. I also asked my service manager about it, and he said it was normal drive line noise.
