C & L Intake and New Tunes Installed

I've just completed installing the C & L Street Intake and used a Predator tuner to install some semi-custom tunes by B a m a chips. Wow! It's a whole new world now. Even with automatic transmission and 3.31's it's running great. To see a review of the parts and the process, complete with G-Tech performance numbers, look here:

This is the first automatic-transmission car I've owned in the "tuner" era; man, I was sure surprised what a good tuner can do for the shift quality! Back in the day I had to open up the tranny to go with new valving. Ain't technology great!

should i buy the kit for $500 from www.rpmoutlet.com and then get the bama tunes? or straight from bama w/ the tunes...

Go directly with BAMACHIPS. In the future, he will help you with modifying your tunes for any new mods you make to the car (free).

I haven't heard good stuff about RPMOUTLET.

*** Go with the SCT X2 if you can ****

I've got the SCT X2, and its a piece of cake to use. I've heard from others in this forum that they too recommend the SCT over the Predator. The only problem is that C&L wont help you with the tuning of the SCT, but that wouldn't matter if you bought it from BAMACHIPS, or another good tuner.

RPM outlet will give you shitty ass tunes that will knock your car into failsafe mood and probably have to make you tow your car back to the dealer or some other place to get it started again. your car will also run dangerously rich with most of the tunes given by RPM OUtlet.

Trust us when we say to go to Bamachips, we are looking out for you and your car. RPM Outlet has the WORST reputation anywhere. do a google search for them and see how many lawsuits RPM outlet has been in or is currently in cause of their reputation.

the difference between the SCT is its MUCH MUCH MUCH EASIER to use tha the predator. Its much more user friendly and the SCT doesnt not need software updates like the predator does every month. usually people have reported loosing their tunes or even their stock tune from the hand held tuner when they did the software update on it. SCT does not required software updates, just plug the tune ang go!

I've heard good things about other tuners (such as Brenspeed) but I have dealt with Doug at Bamachips before and trust him completely. His customer service is about as good as it gets, and he's a wizard as a tuner. I have used an SCT tuner before and liked it but went with the Predator on this application because it's what Doug recommended.

i wouldnt even buy an exhaust or even a piece of suspension from them. they'll send you the wrong one, and then you send it back, it will be a back and forth battle over the phone to get the right part out. then when you try to cancel order, good luck trying to get your money back! they are notorious for that!!

i guess....still it makes me kinda queasy that they have my credit card details on file....i just looked at the invoice and they dont even blank out the cc number except the last four digits (like everyone else in world does!!). I wouldn't be buying from them again...thats for sure.

And i have heard nothing but good stuff abt bamachips. I was looking at their website to buy the Xcal...very clear upfront on what i will receive..
