Whats up with these dang flow through mufflers!?!! UGH!!!

Am I the only one who thinks the SLP LM's sound obnoxious. I mean really the sound they advertise doesnt come close to the performance of the car. Yea they are loud as piss but whatever happened to sound QUALITY. Does no one enjoy the sound of a quality chambered muffler anymore? I am not here to knock anyones taste by any means but dont yall remember that sound that was so distinctly Mustang, well that can only be produced by a chambered muffler. These flow through style have there place in the market today I suppose, it just seems with this new model came a new crowd so to speak.

I would have to agree with you. It seems like most of the people now days just want the noise so they can be noticed. I would rather have that sound that says holy shit, what the hell does he have under the hood, just like in the olden days. But maybe thats just me being a sentimental old fool.

EXSACTLY nice to know that im not the only one that feels that way. I think slps sound way to raspy and nothing like a mustang, I never liked them at all. I love the sound of my Mac mufflers nothing compares

The SLP LM1 are nothing more than a resonator. They are loud and very raspy. They are better left to F bodies.

I agree 100%. No offense to any1 who likes or may have these, but maybe we're just old school. I know that times are changing, but this is still a mustang and I will stick with my chambered muffler always.

Havnt you guys ever been to a classic mustang race? The ones where they run uncorked and hear them at the other end of the track? Dont you love that sound? Thats what SLPs sound like to me...

I'm not against real loud, even uncorked sounds, and enjoy that sound. But as I use my car to commute a long way every week, I didn't want that drone. I went with MBRP's, and they have a nice low, throaty sound, a nice rolled 4" tip, and no drone on the highway at all.

well i have to say i like the rumble of the stock H pipe vs the rasp of an x pipe.

the sound of open headers (any V8) is like music to me lol.
to each his own
i would love to drop the mufflers (31 lbs) and the pipes (? lbs) behind the H pipe and run a couple of turn-downs. i wonder how that would sound?

[turn-down image]

somehow i don't think my neighbors would like it as much as i

i want to turn up the volume in the 1500-2500 RPM range.
if i can't make a call (hands free) while driving, great!
i'm not sittin there to make a call or have a soda. i'm there to freggin drive!

Steve's setup sounds nice.
what would Max do?

keep the rubber side down everyone.
