Do I need Cats in Georgia?

Hey everyone,

Few questions:

1. Do I need cats in Georgia? Not sure. I want to start modifing my stock 07 exhaust. Will I have an issue with passing the emmisions test w/o cats?

2. Is it a real pain in the ass to install Longtube hearders, or is it not that bad? I know this is a subjective question. Any opinions would be awesome.

3. Lastly, would I need to get a new tune from Doug if I just put Borla Axle-Backs on?

Thanks for your help!!

I would say have them installed unless you have a lift, air tools etc. As far as catts in GA I have been told by svereal people you do not need them.

I bought the DynaTech long tubes with high flow cats. The installation was pretty easy with a lift. I also had help from a Ford ASE licensed mechanic so I didn't have to do much.

Well, you need them so to speak. But GA doesn't do any under car inspectoins. As long as your check engine light isnt on your fine. My 98 has passed in GA for the last 4 years with out cats. You should be fine. This March I asked the Emmisions guy if a car would be legal w/o cats s long as it pased emmisions. He was saying "Oh no if I passed a car w/o cats I would lose my license". I said Ok I was just wondering As he was handing me my Passed slip
