1st gear auto


Damn 1st gear is a short gear in the autos. Makes reverse a pain with the kick at the beggining. You really got to feather it. Everyone else having the same issue?

Yea my auto is touchy in first. Very torquey. I like it though. Ive gottin used to it. Underdrive pullies flattened out the power range in first alittle. Thats what it flet liek to me. I love my auto.

it is a lil jumpy in 1st even with the stock 3.31s i cant imagine what it would be like with 4.10s.

i think thats just ford autos because my dads escape's first gear is and pain in the ass. nothing like spinning the fronts on a little SUV.

not all ford 1st gears are really short. my expedition is a 4 speed auto with a 4.6 and i dont think it could spin the tires on ice. that damn thing is so slow its not even funny, but i cant complain its never given me any trouble and it gets to work and back in comfort. but i always thought it would be cool to put a terminator cobra or GT500 in an expedition. put a KB blower have it runnin low 12s. that would be badass.

If you can't imagine 4:10's then you should go try! It's not bad at all. But with 4:10's and your bolt ons, you just kiss 1st good by! Now we have 4:10's and 440 rwhp which isn't helping.

i think ill go with 3.90s or 3.73s.

for an auto, dont go over 3.90's I got manual with 4.10's and 420rwhp right now and also add in my heavy ass FOOSE wheels and the car still will light the tires up 3rd BAD!

Can't imagine what is going to happen when I up my boost from 7lbs to 8.5 lbs and it gets colder this year!

Might have to drive around town with slicks on

your right foot will have to go on a diet but i wont go over 3.90s. the car rarely gets driven on the highway but when it does i dont what to be a 3000 rpm at 85 mph. also i want to keep some top end. are you runnin drag radials? one more thing what king of numbers are you makin with 7 lbs?

With 4:10s and the auto your under 3000 rpm's at highway speed... and Unless you've driven a gt with 4:10's you would know that you loose 0 top end.

really? ive driven em with 3.33's and 3.55's and thats it. no 4.10's. i think 3.90s with some 18" wheels would go great together.

4.10’s on a NA automatic are the only way to go.

you loose 5th gear pulling power and its a bitch because its such a freakin pig its not even a joke. My fifth gear just started puling again since im FI

5th gears is a pig 5 speed or auto no matter what... 4:10's won't take away from that. They didn't in the case of the gt that I drive.

hmmm...this is tough. what did the 4.10 do to your fuel economy (i know after any performance mod your right foot gains 10 lbs.)

4.10 are awsome! Longtube heads and 4.10 are my best mods!!

4:10's intake tune and exhaust are the best mods to just go ahead and get out of the way. It got my dads gt to a 13.14 at 105 with like a 2.0 60' in the hot hot Florida summer heat.
