If I'm not mistaken, as I did some research on the Crower & Comp Cams stuff, the Stage 3 will make nice power, have a noticeably rough idle, and will require a stronger valve spring. Check out Lethal Performance for the Comp Cams stuff, and do your research on the Crower before you make your decision.

Lethal Performance/Comp Cams Stage III: Click Meh

Crower Stage 3: Click Meh

Although both are listed as Stage 3 cams, read the specs on each one. Make sure when you look at the Crower specs, that you are looking at the modular THREE valve cam, roughly 1/2 way down that page.

Note that these cams will not only require a stiffer spring, but also a higher stall speed torque converter if you're automatic, and you will also benefit from a steeper gear, since these cams are midrange - top end units.

With most Stage III type cams, assuming everything else on the engine is stock, the cam alone will add 30 - 40 horse at the flywheel. Adding other mods will not only see an increase in that mod, but with a freer flowing cam, you will see bigger increases. So if you already have, say, a tune, a CAI, and an exhaust, expect a few more from adding a cam. If you have any type of forced induction, that cam will really yield nice results. Just keep in mind that if you are supercharged or plan to be, the cam should have a profile that is forced induction friendly. I believe the Crower Stage 2 & Comp Cam Stage II are S/C or nitrous friendly. The Stage 3 doesn't appear to be, but a quick phone call to the company can give you more details.

Yeah, bitch, I told him about needing stiffer springs, gears, and a torque converter. So back off & get your own thread.

No emissions in FLA Bro.And what exactly do I need more of to make it work for me?

Just to let everyone know.Im having a 281 long block built with complete forged rotating assembly with a set of reworked 3 valve heads. My 1 3/4 L/Ts will be going back on as well.I figured I would look into the cams since Im already there & they offered me a Crower stage 3 set up at cost. The motor will be built to handle a huge NO2 shot(250-300).Im currently running the ZEX 125 wet shot. That will be up for sale of course.
I was hoping to hear some feedback from people with cams or from people who know someone first hand.Unzippee, thanks for your input Bro!

Hey man, Norse, if you have the cash, and are going to do the long block, and already have nitrous, I would go Stage 2 or something forced induction friendly.

And anytime man, I love researching stuff for our rides. hehe
