Wrecked my 07 GT California Special need help with OEM parts ) so I hit the brake's enough to slow down a bit nothing drastic. The car starts to hydroplane and fishtails I try to correct but to no avail I see the guard rail coming then boom into the guardrail I go and its game over for the WHOLE right side of the car, bumper to bumper long story short! So now I'm taking it to the "stealer" aka dealer tomorrow to get an estimate for the insurance, but I would like to know if anyone has any ideas where to get OEM fender's, quarter panels, Tie rods, rims, tires etc etc a little cheaper (i know about ebay). Thanks in advance, heartbroken GT brother.... Pics to come soon just to pissed off/upset to look at the car long enough to not want to shot someone.....

get the estimate, then go to a shop you trust and have them do it cheaper (have them quote 100 bucks under dealer, insurance usually jumps on it) then if oyu know each other, have him cut you the rest in a check...did that on one of our old cars...

This sounds like one of those travelling too fast for conditions deals. At least that's how it would be written here. At which point I hope your not saying your so pissed off you want to shoot the other person. Drizzle, puddles, 70 mph, assuming others likely were having hampered visibility, = slow down so your in control of your car no matter what anyone else does on the roadway.
The good news is no one was hurt. Bad news is your brand new car with no payments made yet, will now be going through a major fix. If you know you need tie rods already, there is likely more than just the aforementioned damage. Like previously stated, get a high estimate and try to come out ahead. Sucks that a brand new car will already be going through major accident repair. |

That sucks man! How much is your deductible? IMO I would let the dealer do it. I got side swiped and they hooked me up pretty good. I will have a beer for ya tonight if that helps!

Sorry to hear about the accident. Where did it happen, on the Palmetto? That or I-95 are disasters waiting to happen. Good to know that at least your alright. I know a body shop in Miami that is real good, and the owner is a great person. Let me know if you want to pass by there, if you don't have anyone else to take it to. This body shop does a lot of work for the car rental companies at Miami International Airport.
Good luck, and try to throw in there some mods while your at it

Also when you get your work done, more than likely they will have left over paint so if they are cool they will hook you up painting some uhh scoops louvers etc. Mine hooked me up when my work was done.

Yeah I guess If anyone is at fault it was me , I should have been a little more concious of the fact that with the weather like that the speed limit isnt always a good idea. I was driving on the turnpike when this happened. The estimate is getting up there $$$$ wise look at it this way.. Everything from the front bumper all the way to the back bumper is being put on new. Doors, trim, fenders, rims tires, tie rod, knuckle assy, shock strut, bearings, lights etc etc. Parts alone it is already breaking $5k! The good thing is that the estimate guy from my insureance loves the car and said that everything will and must be new on such a beauty !!!!!Another advantage I have is my step father works for ford so I get the employee discount on parts, although my deductible is 1,000 I still will have some room for a mod or two. I was just told that all body parts have to be ford oem which kinda blows but hey, beggers cant be choosey. Ill try to upload the pics tonight, if I can learn how to. Thanks for the well wishes guys!!
