Debating hurst short throw...

Guys, I can get a good price on a hurst shifter for $180 plus tax. Would you guys say it is worth it?

Also the guy I am buying it from can install it but he charges a good amount of $ to do it, is this something I could install myself? I am pretty decent with wrenches and I have some jack lifts for the car...

Would you say you are faster now with a short throw shifter?

I have had my short throw in my 07 gt since September. It's been reliable and I have no reason to think about any other shifter. I had heard some complaints about the notchiness and such. I don't think it was as bad as most say.

As a result of the shifter you have no choice but to be quicker. The throw is minimal to the next gear.

I got mine from a vendor on Ebay believe it or not, paid 170 shipped to my door.

Save your money get a Steeda. Solid as a rock...and the handle isn't so long...seen 'em on Roushes and it looks like a shifter out of an F-250...I like notchy...and the solid thump between 3rd and 4th...

I was curious how easy it is to install too....i found an article on stangnet that tells you how and has pictures.

its pretty straight forward and seems very doable with little knowledge.

From what i hear hurst is the way to go. I drove a buddies 98 viper with a hurst short throw and it was amazing.......for a dodge. haha
