SCT Trouble Codes! What to do?

Just installed my JLT CAI and Bama tune (93 torque)... now my check engine light is on and the codes are P0171 and P0174 (both say running too lean). How can I fix this?

Thanks!

Be sure that the tune actually loaded up. Check for air leaks. Then remove your positive cable from your battery for about 15 minutes and replace that should do it.

I know that the tune loaded successfully. I'm going to check for air leaks now. Shouldn't the tuner clear the code w/o having to disconnect the battery?

Thanks! I have to drive 5 hours tomorrow so I'm freaking a little...

I couldn't tell if I had any air leaks... everything seems snug, but with all the air coming off the fan, it's hard to tell. The SCT wouldn't clear the trouble code which probably means it wants whatever is causing the lean condition to be remedied before it'll clear it... God knows I don't want to change any of the parameters in the tuner w/o some help!

Did you try the battery? Make sure the MAF is connected correctly. I believe its directional.

the MAF is directional, you might have installed it the wrong way. check that.

I double checked the direction of the MAF... it points toward the throttle body (according to the install directions). But Doug e-mailed me back with another file to replace the 93 torque tune that I was having problems with. He said he hadn't adjusted quite right for the JLT on that tune (but the 87 and 93 performance tunes were fine)!

I had tightened everything down again and disconnected the battery. Then I went through the procedure in the owner's manual about getting the computer to relearn the idle. If you didnt know, anytime you disconnect the battery, you're supposed to let the car idle for a minute, then turn on the AC and let it idle another minute, then drive about 10 miles.

This corrected the CEL, and I might've been okay, but Doug got back to me in less than an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I downloaded the corrected tune and uploaded to my car.

If I have any more problems (and I don't think I will), tomorrow's 300 mile trip to Boone will expose it.

THANKS!
MM folks rock!

Just for shits and giggles you might want to throw your ford stuff and few tools in a box and bring with.
