Well there are a few things to consider:

How much smaller-

How was your tune prior to this new pulley - conservative or hot?

If you running a conservative tune and only add 1 or 2 lbs, you would be okay. If your tune was hot, then I wouldn't. Especially if you can't stop yourself from pushing the car hard.

That said though, the smartest thing you can do is get the car tuned to make absolutely sure there are no issues. Your main concern is to not lean out the car.

Personally, I wouldnt run the new pulle without the tune. I know its difficult to have HP sitting around the house, but you will be thankfull in end.

thanks for the info. guess ill wait and find a good tune shop in the area even tho it will be hard having a few extra hp sitting in a box in my garage. but i believe the pulley i ordered will be changing my boost from 4-5lbs to around 7-8lbs. it said u will get an average of 25-30 more hp but a good tune they have gotten up to 50-60 more hp.

A guy at a dynoshop near me gained I believe 30rwhp with a smaller pullie on his roush charger...

Roush chargers are good for keeping factory warranty and thats about it...
If you swapped you roush charger for a whipple, at the same boost level you can get another 40rwhp compared to a roush blower. Whipple is more effecient, runs cooler, and takes less power to turn.

thats because the Roush is a roots style blower where the Whipple is a twin-screw. The twin screw is much more efficient.
