what tuner to use?

I am new to the mustang family. I have a '05 gt with the automatic. I have already added a k& n CAI and magnaflow axle backs. I was wondering which tuner will work the best with my mods?

either the SCT or the Sniper will be your best bet.

I have easy access to a diablo. Does that one work as good as the SCT or the sniper?

no it doesn't.

your best bet is to check around your local speedshops and see what tuning software they use.

SCT all the way.

Plus your not going to get much power out of a K&N intake with a tune. I had a custom tune from Brenspeed from my K&N and only gained 4HP from the tune over the stock tune.

to see big gains and better response out of your car, I'd get the C&L intake or the JLT intake with the SCT combo.

For what it's worth, I just added a Steeda CAI w/ high flow elbow and SCT xCalibrator tune. Even at 87 octane optimization, I notice a marked increase in seat of my pants WOW factor. The speed/quickness actually scared my wife again like when I first got the car. To quote her on the first post mod ride: "holy sh*t, wow". It gets up to speed THAT FAST.

She was telling me last night that it hits 60MPH about 200 feet earlier than it used to pre-mod. Apparently she had it paced by some landmarks on a road near our house. My wife is cool.

What I notice specifically is the engine revs up to 3000RPM faster and really takes off after that. So whatever the others do, this combination is making me very happy.

I have also heard good things about the SCT xCalibrator 2 paired with either the C&L or JLT intake. I went with this because I was hung up on wanting to keep it all "Ford" and the guy at Steeda has been accessible and great to work with. Plus, I like the concept of a plastic elbow over the better looking metal ones because of less heat soak on my cold air delivery channel.

The fact that I can put my hand on my plastic intake manifold immediately after driving the car made me a believer in these composite materials and their favorable thermal qualities. (But man those polished metal ones are cool looking...)

Oh, and the sound through my GTA axelbacks is pure joy.

John
