Diablosport Predator Q

I have received the race tune from Doug. My question is, how many tunes can the tuner hold? There are already 3 tunes in it, + the factory tune. I have the race tune, & another 91 torque tune that he fixed up for me. Do I need to delete any tunes to make way for the 2 new ones, or will it hold them all?

Thanks, Ricky.

So far, cam, yes. With the 91 torque tune, there was a fairly noticeable difference in power, along with a mpg improvement of about 3 on the highway with the cruise on.

Everyone tells me the Race tune is supposed to be that much better. I guess I'll be finding out in a little bit here, as soon as I finish my coffee, connect the Pred to the pc, delete my old torque tune, and ul the new fixed torque tune & race tune, and then take the tuner out to the car and stick the race tune in. Doug set the race tune up for 91 octane so I can get fuel anywhere, as only one place (Sunoco) around here sells 94. This way I can bump the timing up a couple of degrees with the race tune when I'm on the 94 octane shit. Can't wait to try it.

....I just have to wait for the daycare kids here to wake up....one is sleeping in the chair & a half I need to move to get to the back of my tower.

All righty. I got my race tune installed. It rocks. I have a few more questions for those of you that are tuner-friendly.

1. When I tried to erase the bad torque tune, it erased all my tunes except for the factory backup. Any idea what I did wrong?

2. I manage to install the new race tune & the new torque tune okay. But for some reason I am unable to upload both tunes in to the tuner from the pc and have both in the tuner. When I u/l the torque tune, that tune shows up. When I then u/l the race tune, the torque tune disappears and I see only the race tune. How do I get more than one tune at a time in to the Predator?

3. Timing. Doug set the race tune up for me at 91 octane, as only one station around here sells 94 octane. This way I can bump the timing up a little as long as I can get the 94, and in the event I can only get my hands on the 91 octane, I simply back the timing off. I currently have the global timing advanced 2 degrees. What is the safe maximum I can bump the timing up on my otherwise stock motor?

Thanks

bump.

For anyone wondering, yes I've emailed Doug these Q's, and am just waiting for his response. But it would still be nice to hear from anyone who's experienced with this stuff if possible.

You ever get the timing figured out man?? Oh and how do you like the race tune. I think I'll be getting that from Doug very soon. I have his performance tune and it

No, ------scratch that, just checked email.

Got my reply from Doug. Re the adding more than one tune in to the Pred using the DS downloader:

" When you goto Upload the tunes into your Predator using the DS downloader goto the bottom of the screen and hit the advanced tuning tab. This will take you to another screen where you will see an add tune button. Add all three tunes into the white box and then hit the send to tool button. This will upload all three tunes at once."

And Re the timing:

"As for timing yes, you should be able to add 2-3 degree’s of timing using 94, I only add 2 over my 91 tune for 93. Then if all you can get is 91 just go back to the base tune file."

Let me say once again, Doug at www.bamachips.com is The Man. His support, knowledge, and service are amazing. Great man to buy product from.

And Mike, I love the race tune, I can't wait to beef it up with a little more timing for the 94 I can get here.

So is it much of a difference over the torque tune?

Yes. It is definitely something you can feel. I haven't tested it that much yet, though, I took it to a parking lot last night to play with the tuner's rev limit & timing settings, and after about 3 hard launches an old guy yelled at me from across the street that he was calling the cops, so I had to split. lol

I'm about to put the 3 tunes in as he taught me, and I'll be playing with the tunes some more tonight, and I leave for work in the morning, so I'll have a 500 mile commute to test it with.
