I have not used any wax on my car as of yet. Every time it gets dirty I just run it thru the local touch less car wash and use Windex with cloth diapers on the tough spots. It sounds bad but the stuff works on bug guts and tar. I'm not sure how much wax is added from the carwash though.
It’s never been hand waxed.
If I have a really tough spot (Tar or stain) I use Naphtha from the hardware store. Is this practice hard on my paint or good?

a great wax you can use over and over is p21s carnauba. it should last a month at least and it's a great finishing touch to a car polish. look up

sonus perfect shine kit

on google and see what I'm using. It is an expensive kit at 140.00 but it is amazing to say the least

Windex is ammonia based and that is bad for paint. Use a quick detailer (turtle wax ICE, meguirs, etc.)

Cloth diaper < Microfiber cloth...you can pick up a pack of MF cloths at about any autoparts store, wal-mart, etc. for fairly cheap.

+1

Windex is a no no on the paint, and on the interior glass if you have tint.

RE: Waxing too much - Hand Glaze

hey guys, i tried the hand glaze this weekend. It puts an absolutely beautiful, very deep looking shine on the car. highly recommended. the guy says it wont last extremely long (around 2-4 weeks) but the effect is worth the effort. goes on and off like a wax but much easier to apply/remove. It's a paint nourisher/cleaner so it should be done before waxing and can be done anytime in between without damage to anything. It is called Imperial Hand Glaze by 3M.

Check this shit out: Ultra Finish

Won't cover everything that is already covered there.

Some pics of my car after polishing it with UF at a show yesterday:
Car Show

Just of the car if you don't want to look through the whole show:

Amazing product. I had just finished polishing the car, when a bbq started up next to where i was parked. The car was covered in grease, and it just wiped right off with a micro fiber cloth, no streaking, no scratches, nothing.

Its funny when you get a mental image of how someone looks, then you see a pic of them and its totally different. I always pictured you as a tall (6ft6) and skinny ( 175 lbs ).

lol yeah I know that feeling, it's always weird when you actually see the person. I almost couldn't be more opposite to those numbers either; I'm 6' & 220 lbs. lol
