HELP! from the trusty MM guys and gals.
ok so i have a problem that i am going through.
I have a 2007 GT with 10k miles on it. It has been in a pretty serious wreck with $14k in damage done to it at 2700 miles. It was fixed by a ford dealership with all brand new parts from ford. ok so heres the problem, I can either keep it and just mod it to what i want it to be, or my dad approached me with the idea of trading it in and getting either a ROUSH stage 3 (either blackjack or white conv) or a 427r or a Saleen. i went to a specialized ford dealer and looked at them the other day with my mom and i would be perfectly content in any of them. its just that financial at the moment keeping mine would be more suiting giving the increase in monthly payments any of those stangs would be. WHAT WOULD YALL DO? Keep my GT and most likely add a procharger some time next year along with some other body mods, or get a new mustang and keep it stock.

thay really did do an AWESOME job repairing it, everything is completely sound. Ive had a couple of mechanics look at it and say they couldnt tell it had been wrecked. They did forget to balance the wheels though, and i picked it up on a saturday, so it was a bumpy ride to Discount tire.

well the saleen is a very nice car! and if it is a supercharged one then even better! The roush superchargers aren't worth it but the saleen ones are!
If I were you I would take the saleen but then, I'm a guy that loves cars that look as good as they perform. |

i'm picky........i would never want to drive a car after it's been in a bad accident.
I made the mistake of buying a car that was wrecked real bad at one point......needless to say that car has been sold. I say upgrade as long as u can afford it. |

Ditto, I'd say get out of it now while that's still an option. Every car I've ever had I've wrecked...seriously...I average about 1 wreck a year. For the record...7 out of 8 weren't my fault! But they never seemed to run exactly the same afterward. Just little things here and there that seemed to exaggerate over time. I'd upgrade right now and never look back!

When you buy a Roush or Saleen you are also paying for the name and a warranty. That's important if you want to have a collectable and not mod the car. If you want to go the less expensive route just mod the car you have. Although I saw a Roush BlackJack at my local ford dealer. I do like that car. Do you want something that's just fun to drive or something with some exclusivity? I'm a cheapo myself. That's why my car still doesn't have any mods.

i would say a saleen s281, the supercharged ones are nice, but i really like the the body kit of saleen compared to roush. if not just mod the hell out of the one you got and save some money if it drives right

see thats the thing. Im in college and this is my daily driver, so it is going to get alot of miles on it plus im not able to park it in the safest places while im in class. so as far as a saleen or roush as a collectable, thats not what i would want it for, i want something that is fun to drive and honestly pulls ass...haha.

If the car had that kind of damage, I would unload it and get the Roush stage 3 blackjack. That car just makes sets me all aquiver.
Irregardless of how well they fixed the car, if it had that kind of serious structural damage, over time it will start to show in squeaks & rattles. And in the event that you ever do put some serious power in the car, it will only stress the chassis of the car that much more, and then the possibility of the accident showing itself is only that much greater. Get rid of it if you have the option.

ditch it. Get the Saleen. The Roush blowers are garbage, and the body kit is mounted like shit. The Saleen is much higher quality all around.
