paxton 2200 or saleen stage1

What up stangers have a quick question i am about to buy a supercharger was going with the bell a little pricey brenspeed sells a paxton package claims good numbers a little higher than i want to be and they have a saleen package 470 crank difference in price $700.00 which one do you think would be good for city action and highway action if needed which one is more reliable also i am thinking about my own install shops in va try to hang you upside down and shake you for what you got now the paxton seems to be a monster up front and the saleen could be made to be one but i want something i am going to enjoy and can taking a spanking when needed.Of the subject those subaru wagons seem like a piece of work into a corner wonder if it can run with the steed.

You want low end to mid range power, pick the Saleen. You want midrange to high end, pick the Paxton. Both are going to be reliable.

What he said^.

Centrifugals are like turbos, they make good midrange-top end power. Roots & twin screws (Whipple) make good bottom end-midrange power.

I think if you get reading through this forum though, you will find that a turbo will make more power than a s/c.

One thing to consider. If you get the saleen, I think you need a high domed hood to fit it under. I know the s/c saleen cars have a higher hood and I think I read somewhere that it was necessary to clear the s/c . Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd make sure before ordering one.

a saleen supercharger will fit under a stock hood, I have seen one in person. Note this, a saleen supercharger doesn't come with the cold air intake so you will have to buy that which is around $350 unless it is noted that it comes with the package.

i am going to user my steeda cold air filter and stock inlet tube how is the install on both of these and i am getting it from brenspeed.com bren told me the saleen is more reliable and easier to install only thing i dont like is the warranty factor novi 2200 less money car has enough torque for light to light i am sure the s/c will help some but we need an improved 3rd 4th and especially 5th i wanna run of on you not walk of.

Me personally, I like cars that get off the line hard and really set you in your seat. But I have a turbo though because of the way my car was setup I could not run a twin screw blower like I wanted to...

If you really want something for top end power, get a turbo kit instead of a centri. Turbo's dont cause drag on the motor.

the saleen blowers WILL fit under stock hoods, however, the need of a drop of 1"inch with billet motor mounts may be necessary in order to accomplish this.

If you go with the Saleen blower you should buy the Steeda high flow inlet pipe. It will let the blower breathe better and if it were me I'd go with the Saleen because I like the twin screw blowers better than the centris.
