widest tires on s197 mustang


what the biggest possible fit without modifying the car? im thinking 305s on mine, at least. what is anyone else running? offset? backspacing? everything.

I think 315 are the max, but they will be sticking out of the fender a bit so you gotta keep the car from bottoming out. this is with 10 or 10.5" wide wheels though (not really sure I still have stock rims and tires), the stock rims can go up to 275 I think.

you can fit a 335/30 nitto DR on a 10.5 wide rim

315 are for 10" wheels then... I knew one of them was right... and those stick out of the fender a lil bit.

335s. nice....im not sure if its those nitto dr's or some other tires, that say they're 335, but look more like 275's.

ok, so the 3-digit number is the width? then the second number would be the size of the tire wall? and the last number of course is the rim

right?

awesome. so what are some good tires to have for 18x9 or 9.5s in front and 18x10.5s in back

The first 3 digit number is the width of the tire in millimeters. The second number is the aspect ratio, or height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width.

275/40-18 Nitto NT555 up front, and 335/30-18 Nitto NT555Rs in the back.

would it be better to have a bigger aspect ratio or less? lol, i look at tires and don't see too much of a difference sometimes even though they're numbers apart

The widest tire nitto recomends for a 10.5" is 315. The widest for a 10" or 9.5" is 295, depending on the diameter of the rim.

I use 315 on 10.5 inch deep dish for the street only.
