Oil Pressure Gauge Question

I'm new to this so please don't shoot the messanger if this has been gone over before. I just put an a-pillar pod gauge setup in my car and I'm trying to put in an Oil Pressure Gauge.

My question is, I've got a Roush Stage 3 that is supercharged and I'm trying to find where to install the sender unit.

Also, I want to power the lights on it off of my dash lights so the lights come on when the dash lights come on. Does anyone know what line I need to hook into for that to happen?

Any help would be appreciated.

Im not really sure about where to tap the guage into. But I run my guages off the dimmer switch that way not only do they light up but also dim with the interior. I put an inline fuse on my ( prolly overkill, but safe ) line b/w the guages and dimmer switch.

Fast did similar to myself in going after the dimmer, if you have a test light it's a easy find. I forget what color the wire was, I remember green for some reason, but I'm guessing at this point.

For the sender, see this thread.. tells you exactly where to go with pics:

Its funny that your mention green, caus that was what I was thinking just didnt want to say it without being sure ( which Im still not ), just probe a test light into the back of the switch and see which one lights up, also your test light will dim as you turn the switch.

Thanks guys! I'll have to check and see if there is a green there. I know that the green in the ignition wiring is the one I had to splice into for my push button start. I'll take it apart tonight after church and check it out.

Did you run ground to a screw or attach it into the dimmer switch wiring some way?

Grounded all my gauges to the dash behind the dimmer...I think the wire i used for dimming the gauge lights was black with either a green or purple stripe...the car's 7,300 miles away, so i can't go check...sorry
