the roots is a positive displacement blower just like the twin screw but the internals on them are completely different.

the twin screw is much more advanced .. makes more power more efficiently.. produces less heat .. yada yada.. see if this works.

Myself, I'm debating between the Whipple, and the Procharger. One of the perks of having a twin screw is that you have power from 1500 rpms, and up. With the centrifugal superchargers, your power band starts around 3500 rpms. This means that with a centrifugal, you can still be efficient when your not heavy on the gas. The twin screws are balls to the walls all the time, which a lot of people want.

The choice is yours, just do your research, and get an intercooler. You'll like what ever it is that you get.

I totally agree. I'd be all over the FRPP whipple-charger if the intercooled one only made 450hp and it was warrantied.

I'm starting to think I might eventually go with the Kenne-Bell - from what I've been hearing it's the quietest blower you can find for the S197. I guess I'm weird - I actually really really like how the car sounds completely stock. After I test-drove it and I heard that sound, I knew I had to have it

Arent all twin screw roots type? Some clearification here... To my understanding a roots type supercharger replaces the upper intake. So the whipple would be a roots type, correct? I understand the concept behind the twin screw cause I had a Kenne Bell on my 91. Somewhere I got filpped about...
kenne bell, whipple, and saleen are twin screw (compressors) which mean they produce boost inside the case and transfer it to the engine, they store the compressed air in the case and the twin screw design forces it to the front the case and then into the intercooler

magnacharger, eaton, roush--which are the same case, do not produce boost inside the case they force the air to the motor and make boost by forceing more air than the engine can consume, the air passes on the outside of the rotors and can cause some recirculation of compressed air which is why they are known to produce more heat from recompressing air in the case before it is transfered to the engine

As soon as I get back from my deployment (#9 in three years...just over 700 days in this shithole now... ) I'll be sure to get some in-car audio up here for you guys, maybe some drive-by's...and i haven't been able to watch emay's burnout video yet (medai blocker), but i'll prolly have to burn off this season's mickeys for you guys too...
