Upper Control Arms & Lower Control ArmsPlease advise which UCA & LCA i should go for. No adjustables needed. I was thinking A) BMR Tubular Lower Control Arms w/poly bushings... $134.95 pr. Or B) BMR Tubular Lower Control Arms with polyurethane bushing and spherical bearing combination ... $208.95 pr. and A) BMR UCA Tubular Upper Control Arm w/poly bushing... $135.95 or B) BMR Tubular Upper Control Arm w/spherical bearing $175.95 What does poly mean? is it the same as polyurethane? whats a spherical bearing ? is it really important? Any other considerations added too would help? Appreciate the help. Thanks

http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/t_suspension.htm#Rear
"If improved straight-line (dragstrip) performance is your primary goal, the stock rubber upper & lower control arm bushings can be replaced with solid polyurethane bushings or spherical bearings. Hard bushings/bearings eliminate wheel hop, reduce axle deflection, and improve rear end grip. The downside of solid poly bushings is that they prevent the necessary movement of control arms during body roll, which in turn produces significant suspension bind in turns. Spherical bearings do a better (but still imperfect) job of handling control arm motion during turns. And they also tend to transmit a lot of road noise and vibration into the car. If you use your car in open track or autocross competition, you'll probably want to leave the stock upper control arms alone and install only new lower control arms. The stock rubber bushings in the upper arms continue to allow the axle to articulate through its full range of motion in turns, while the new lower arms improve axle location. One popular lower arm design (illustrated below) uses segmented poly bushings on the chassis end and spherical bearings on the axle end. This combination has been found to improve rear axle location without any significant increase in suspension bind."

how much power are you putting out?
is you car a daily driver? what all do you use your car for? daily drivers will want poly bushings, it is a better ride that rod ends or sphericals. just a weekend warrior, or a drag car will want rod ends, or sphericals. puts power to the ground better, and has a harsh ride. I personally have the CHE LCA's with poly bushings, or whatever theirs is equivalent to. Love it, a lil rougher ride than stock, but not too bad. buddy has the rod ends for his turbo 06, and its a rougher ride with more road noise too. if you are 400+rwhp think about rod ends, but polys will still hold itj ust fine. poly is polyurethane. sherical uses a bearing inside of the poly bushing for more articulation I believe. =(o)= like that

the spherical bearings will be harsher than the poly bushings. they are more for racing than just a street car. if you are going to lower the car then i would suggest getting the adjustable ones though. i use bmr and i love them. very simple to install everything.
