I'll bite:

Have you ever done them before? If not, I wouldn't go learning on your own based of some internet material you may have happened across.

I learned at a very young age that not spending the money for an entire rebuild ended up costing more in the end. Spend the extra 60 to 80 bucks and do it right. The last thing you want to have happen is a carrier bearing or crush sleeve fail and you have garbage for a back half.

Lastly, gears are no joke, it takes a special patient individual to do the job right. Poor jobs end up whining or with premature failure. I'd suggest farming it out to a reputable local shop.

Emay is right. DO NOT Attempt this install if you dont have experience in rear end work. I know 2 people that were pretty good mechanics and both had to replace the whole rear end. Trust me that if you let a professional mech do install it would be worth every penny. Gears are probably the most self satisfying mod (other than a supercharger) that you will get the most enjoyment from. dont forget the tune after they are installed

just had 4.10's installed by a very good mechanic. ordered the install kit w/ bearings and everything. after breaking in for 500 miles, i change out the gear oil w/ synthetic and dont forget the friction additive for the traktion lok rear end.

Like eveyone else said, have a shop do it. And stay away from Motive, they are notorious for whining. Go with FRPP.
