Good Price for Ring and Pinion Swap?

Now that the jlt cai and sct are on I wanna do 4.10 gears. A ford tech that has done gear swaps for me in the past said it would be about $450 for the install (about 6hrs labor). This guy does great work and is very picky about his installations, but the price seems a little steep. What have you guys paid for install? I called modular depot, which is nearby, and they said about $250 for the labor, but I've never dealt with them before. Thanks for the help

I've been quoted $750 which includes gears, shim pack, RP 75/140, etc. minus the recalibration for the speedo. Not sure if this is a good price maybe someone can chime in on the both of us

If the guy is as good as you say he is then $450 is a great price. You could easily pay the same for some hack that's gonna lead to problems down the road.

is the ford tech installing your gears while at the ford dealership or after work in his garage? because i would pay the extra $200 to keep my warranty just incase something happens to the rear end, then they would have to fix it without you paying thousands of dollars for repairs.

although a bit pricey having your gears done by someone that truely knows what they are doing is vital. some can do them for cheap and some are very expensive, but the quality is a must. i know a guy that put 4.10's in a cobra and there is no noise or vibration and it was only a $200 install.

Does $750 sound like a good deal if it includes everything gears, new shims, RP fluid, etc.

Wait that includes gears. Never mind. That is a decent price.

decent is about it. do your homework on how much you could get all the parts and fluid for. then call and see how much just for the install. most places jack up the price for parts also.
