Blow dryer? Maybe it could heat up the sticky stuff to help it come off?

Ya i'll definatly add some pipcs this weekend, painting it was pretty fun I love doing stuff like that, get some 600 grit sand paper and sand down the spoiler till its nice and smooth (you can use 800 if your worried about scratching it) then wash it off with soap and water, then put some adhesion promoter on a few coats i just did what was recomended on the can (used all duplicolor by the way), then i added a few coats of sandable primer then let it dry for a while then sanded it down with some 800 grit sand paper washed that off then it was time for the coats of black i put 4 coats on all pretty light except the last was a little heavy, then i put on my clear coat in thin layers and let it dry for about 2days then hit it with a clay bar to get rid of any over spray and gave it a nice coat of wax came out looking great! this is my first time so there was some trial and error. All i can say is watch the over spray and dont get to generous on the coats i had some drips first try, and then a few scratches from using sand paper that was to gritty, but anyways it was a blast and if your gonna try it good luck and enjoy!

Did you use spray paint, or did you have a gun?

Try this link for removal of the spoiler:
http://forums.stangnet.com/showthrea...=GT500+spoiler Basically it's a case of undoing the 4 bolts and then severing the adhesive layer using a ruler or something. I used a 6" roller with a jagged edge (for cutting paper). I used silicon lube which reduces the cutting ability but stops the adhesive sticking and jamming the ruler. Just pulling the spoiler up and jabbing to break the foam worked best for me. Removal of the stuff left is down to a strong thumbnail to remove most of the foam and then a solvent to remove the remaining glue (I used isopropanol alcohol). Just don't be tempted to use anything metal, take your time and don't be impatient. When the spoiler is off, you're left with 4 holes in the bootlid. I bought a pre-painted GT500 spoiler from The Spoiler Store on ebay which fits using two of the holes.

Best to sever the 3m adhesive under the spoiler feet with some 30# fishing line.. It can't scratch and it fairly easily slices right through the 3m tape under the mounting areas. Downside is it leaves a fair amount of cleanup.
Fishing line method works on emblems and such as well. |

One of the first things I did was remove the rear spoiler. I tried to find a trunk lid without one, in the same color and just do a swap but in the end, had it done by a body shop. I'm useless at doing car stuff myself...lol
At least you can't tell there was ever a spoiler there.
