Changing Shifter?


Is it very hard to change the shifter in our cars, what is involved ? I want to go to the hurst shifter

takes about 30 minutes and a lift, common metric tools...real easy, and you don't have to pull the driveshaft or exhaust.

correct......the directions will tell you to pull the driveshaft, but it isn't needed. very simple

I did mine on jack stands and it took me about 2 hours the first time, I had to take the shifter off today and put the stocker in back in since my 2nd gear syncro is dead and I'm taking advantage of my warranty. Took me about one hour to put the stocker back in, not counting the fight I had to put in to place the stock dust boot back in (that thing is a PITA)

And you don't need top take the driveshaft off.

love that classic look of the old school Hurst! and they are some short throws. alot shorter than my 07! must get one very soon!

MGW hands down. can be adjusted from 15% all the way to 50% shorter throw.
