it was just a seasonal job.

I'm a truck driver for a major insulation company now plus I do the Navy thing on the weekends.

(lets try and move this to the clubhouse so we don't whore this up too much )

I bought my 2007 GT with 3.31s last summer and I test drove GTs with 3.55s but could not find the body/interior color scheme I wanted. The 3.55 cars seemed a bit perkier but I have since purchased 3.73s. The 3.55s may be a touch better as far as accelration goes but not by much. Find or order the car you want and have F.R.P.P. 3.73s installed by the dealer. You will notice a difference with the 3.73s.

Is it a good idea to go ahead and get t-lok installed when you have the gears installed?

Even though you're buying a basic model it still comes very well equipped. Everyone on this site loves their Mustang and you will too. Get what you can afford now, you can always add to it later.

Without a doubt my friend. Well said ! I just converted my girlfriend to a GT convertible from a 07' TrailBlazer SS and she loves her new Stang. We still have the T.B. SS but now it sits most of the time. It is quick and fun to drive but it just isn't a Stang, I guess I am biased. This is my third Mustang GT and I have loved the all. First a Fox chassis convertible then a SN95 and now my S197. The possibilities are endless !

I have an 08 mustang gt convertible
- s&b cai
- bbk shorty headers
- hurst short throw
- window and headlight tints
- billit grill
- antennae delete

I had a thread to see what reccomendations I should do for my next kick
- 3.73s
- x3 tuner
- delete plates

I was thinking about a new exhaust but I really really wanted the side exhaust and if I want to sacrifice the actual performance aspect of it I can go to a body shop and have them bolt/weld something them on to the stock though tell you the truth it seems like a bit of an abomination. I am most excited for those 3.73s and tune though

Since you have the CAI, get the tuner. From what I have been reading, delete plates seem to be worthless.

Lamotta Performance is in Longwood (snicker). They are a pretty well known shop. Might wanna give them a call, and get a quote.

The cai tuner option is a good one as is replacing the UDP; delete plates are OK and will increase the high end power - a little, what actually happens is you feel as though the car has a power 'boost' around 3500rpm.

I am using 4.10s on the road and find them fine, about 2500rpm for 70mph - indicated. On the track, with M&H 275 50 17s, the final ratio is actually 3.95 according to math. I think I am going to swap my M&Hs for the 'new' MT 295 45 17 which give more like 4.10 on the strip with a bit of extra width for launch grip.

Loving the True Trac I fitted this winter.

Hi guys the whipple with only 5 lbs of boost makes 400+ RWHP and with smaller pully about 16-18 Lbs of boost makes around 465 RWHP. HO kit Pumps it to 500+ Waiting for my Shelby GT to get the Whipple N/Intercooled so I can keep my warranty as well as I have the Automatic with 3:55s. The guys I have been talking say because of the o lag time and instant boost of the whipple and kenny bell at leastin the auto is quite a handfull if you get on the throttle ha! Ha! Can hardly wait to test out their theory.

The true trac is awesome, I had it fitted by Andy Robinson Race Cars in the UK. They did a great job; I was nervous of whining and noise but, it runs nice and quiet, no noise or issues in turns though pulling away from a T junction, the car does skip a bit as you'd expect!

At the track it launches straight now, I gauge my launches on where the cigar lighter lands. On the stock diff it would hit the passenger seat or me depeneding on which wheel 'stuck'! Now it hits the back seat hard! Its my aim to get it onto the parcel shelf!

Launching is now easy 3500rpm; I have not had a chance to really run it as I suffered from the Hurst shifter binding, I have since fitted the CHE Brace and tie rods, all seems cool on the street now. I am next at the track weekend after next so we will see.

So far, it is instant power down! I also have fitted QA1 adjustables and have yet to have the chance to play properly with them yet!

I have a 08 Shelby GT 500 and I'm Looking to change gears to 4.10 ratio, Was looking on the Ford Racing site, but not really sure which part number I would need? Ford Racing shows many different gear sets 8.8" RING GEAR AND PINION SETS M-4209-G410A* Or >>> 8.8" RING GEAR AND PINION SETS M-4209-G410M*

Also not sure if I would need the 8.8" RING & PINION INSTALLATION KIT or what number to order. Thanks in advance for any help anyone could give me.

Is it true that gears decrease your fuel efficiency? I'm doing mainly city driving and I'm getting a sh++ty 13.5mpg but on a race tune. I have an auto so is it better for me to go with 3.73 apposed to 4.10's?
