Active Anti-Theft

Besides saving me a few bux on insurance, I was wondering what are the advantages of this system over the standard security system?

From what I've heard everyone talk about here, the active system has motion sensors in the map light console. If it's armed and you grab your can of Cuckoo Cola from the cupholder through an open window, the alarm'll go off.

Likewise if you bump the car, I guess.

'Course, people who actually have it may want to chime in here.

don't act so high and mighty... they must carry a blunt object in order to infiltrate your car...

yeah, first time I bought my car, and reached in to get the keys I left in the seat at the house...
horn went off, I thought it was kinda cool.
plus, with the PATS system on our side, we are not un-stealable, but very very hard to.

Only if you don't know how to use your fists....

Fists, feet, elbows, hips, foreheads, knees, shoulders... all quite effective blunt objects that can put an aggressor in the hospital.

But only if you know how to use them.

The point of the active security system, I believe, is that you're not around to defend your car's honor. Hell, my first reaction when I accidentally set off my car alarm is to run. Fight or flight is an instinct.

Alarm's not gonna stop someone who knows what they want and owes someone some cash. But for 99% of everyone else, they'll pick an easier car to infiltrate before even trying something that is likely to have an alarm. Deterrance is never having to use the alarm.

Mine doesn't have the active anti theft, but still with the alarm it has anyway, plus PATS, it would be pretty hard to steal but if somebody wants something bad enough they will take it.
