Hood Pins

First a question: If you put on real hood pins should you remove the trunk latch? Is it worth it to get reals, or should I get the just for shows?

Can someone send me a link for some hoodpins, i have been looking but rather have the experts inputs.

+1 That's some really good info there...that gure sure seems to know what he's talkin bout! lol

Hindsight though...look into the Shelby hoodpins. They look AWESOME and appear to be a little bit higher quality than the FRPP pins. Little more costly but WORTH IT! Check out Emay's ride for some up close pics of the Shelby pins without "shelby" printed on them...For Zip, shelby pins up close

I think you mean the hood latch!?! With the real pins...no, just pull the clips from the pins before you pull the hood latch. I'd go with the show pins unless you feel comfortable with drilling holes through your hood.

ninosports.com carries both types...good luck.

You know, I'm not that "mechanically inclined". In fact, I hadn't worked on cars until I got my Mustang. That write up that in that link I did was the first major project I did and I've been doing all of my own work ever since. You'll save THOUSANDS of dollars in labor if you can man up and do it yourself, that's just THAT much more money to spend on mods. Just always remember not to rush and to do plenty of research before starting a project. My Mustang is my therapy. When I've had a hard week I love to just tool around on my baby...very calming for me...

You hit it right on the head. Perfect. Rep for you sir.

And i am good with mechanic stuff I can build things and such and if i see something done, or read about it I can do it. I also treat my car as if it were therapy. I love getting new things, putting them on, and then reaping the rewards of turning around to look at it after i park it. Each new thing makes my life that much happier. Women are a dime a dozen, Friends can come and go, but your car is there when you need it (as long as u take care of it).

Thanks for the help.

I need a link to the shelby pins, and to the pins that I dont need to drill into the hood, just underneath(for show not for real use)

Im really not looking to drill into the hood unless I have to.

I've got the shelby hood pins without shelby written on them. I really like them. I left my hood latch on as well. Only issue I have is that I have to take the pins out and then pop the hood. I like it that way because it gives a little more security when you park your car. Just my .02
