2006 Mustang

I bought a used mustang at a dealership, the engine seems to be reving to fast and RPM needle stays at 5 when I go 80 MPH compare to anohter 2006 mustang that I already own, which stays between 2&3 RPM's @ 80MPH, the new mustang seems to be wasting more gas and both are V-6 with 4.0 engine.
What kind of adjustments can be done to the engine?

Bring it back to the dealer something is wrong. Was it like that when you test drove it?

sounds like the tranny is gone

Check and see if there was a gear installed in that car. You can take a peak and see if it appears the cover was removed and replaced.

If it looks obvious someone was in there, then I'd pull the cover and count the teeth.
