Yep, thats what started this whole whipple thing for me. I had to get a new windshield, hood, never did get new hinges or hood latch, I just pinned the new hood on all four corners. I kind of like it like that because when I work on my car, I can lift off the whole hood.
I was lucky there was no fire after the explosion.

Damn, you're running 10s with the Whipple. What other mods do you have?

I have the whipple, and it was the first one when it came out in arizona, and the fact it was not loud pissed me off, as I love the that sound. So Mickey, not all whipples are loud on the s197, and mine is really only noticable from the inside of the car. No one knows I'm supercharged until my little 200+C.I. kicks the shit out of them. My brother has the KB, and likes it, but it is a fact, the whipple install is the easiest in the business. Also if you are just running the 10lbs or below, you do not need the kit with the fuel pumps. I didn't instill the dual fuel pumps until after I stepped up to the 12lbs pulley.

25 psi. on a S197 but the supercharger can make 30 psi. on an inefficient motor

Congratulations! As I said, they are not "ALL" loud. As for not running dual fuel pumps on a 10lbs pulley? Not the smartest thing to do? Come on... it's all about the tune, and my 2006 has been supercharged since it had 300 miles on it, and it now has 48000 thousand, without one engine problem, and the block is still stock, and I'm running 600hp, with 500 wrhp on pump gas, and over 600, and 500 with 100 octane or more. So even if I do blow the motor, I have gotten more than my money's worth. Oh, and by the way... I have no fancy guages, or any of that extra stuff everyone tries to sell you. Just the original kit. And of course the best tune, and tuner Devin, and the best shop in Arizona PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS RACING... See you on the street tough guys. lol...

def not smart. i ran the GT500 fuel pump with 1 fuel drive module by mistake, oh yea dangerously LEAN!!! that was the error of the shop not installing the 2nd fuel pump drive module. but it seems as though this guy thinks he's tough... |

No I don't think I'm tough... I just think it's amazing there is a bebate about what supercharger is louder? And I simply said mine was not loud. Than I'm not smart for not using this that, and the other? I'm all about fast cars plain, and simple. Could careless about the personalities, just like other gamers... So tough has nothing to do with it. Drive it like you stole it...
