I would go 9" wide in the front and 10" wide in the rear. The only thing you might have a problem with is the speedo reading incorrectly due to the tires being a different diameter than stock.

Just make sure you get them same diameter and you won't have any problems. 17-20's need no modifications. My favorite deepdish rims would have to be black bullitts with a chrome lip.

275's all the way around will fit fine. 275 is the best for a 9in wide rim

yes. 275's fit on the front of new edge stangs, and our cars have more room

Also, would you guys say that if you want the tire to blend well with the rim it's better to oversize a smaller rim than to put a merely adequate width tire on a 10.5 inch rim?

Not for sure what the question is, but a tire that is too small for a rim looks stupid. If you want the best look for a rim, go with a tire that fits exact or just a little bigger.

9 in front 10 in back 245/45/18 up front and 275/40/18 in back is what I'm rollin now. waiting for the 275's to wear out so I can put some more meat back there. no speedo recalibration was needed because they were almost the exact height of the stock tire

9s in the front will be fine if you put the right tire size. 10s in the back are also good if you put the right tire size. too big will result in rubbing.
also, the right offset makes a difference also. |

Also I had a thread early, but no one answered it... What is the smallest offset that I could run on mine?

IMO a 275 on a 10" rim is way to small. i had a 285 on a 9.5" rim and i thought that was to small also. 10" rims should get nice fat tires. at least 305's, but 315 would look even better.that and a 275 out front on a 9" rim.
