New 12 in subwoofer

Today I had a Subwoofer installed into my trunk of the 07 Stang. I have a Shaker 500 and I was missing the deep sound of a sub. I don't like rattling tail lights I just like a full rang of sound.
The 12' 500 watt Blaupunkt Subwoofer that I bought from Apple Valley Ford is just right for my car. It isn't to much base. The sub came with a 500 watt amp/crossover , cables, and volume control for the sub. The only problem I have noticed is that ever once and a while the sub will discharge like it is getting a shot of voltage. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this from happening .

This happens while it's playing? If so at what volumes? Or does this happen when you first turn it on, or off?

This happens when the car is shut off. All the power lights are off and will thump for a while. It seems better when I turn down the volume control for the sub.

Mine makes that loud popping noise through the subs too (Shaker 1000). These cars are hit or miss electrically, I thought it had something to do with my battery draining last year...Ford could have done a better job grounding this car, because I think it's just static electricity discharging. Running a 6-wire grounding kit solves a lot of problems on electric throttle body cars, I put one in my 350Z, and it really pepped it up, the throttle response was a lot better, and it actually showed about 5 more rwhp just because the ECU, TB, ignition, and everything else was operating more efficiently. Come to think of it, I haven't heard much about them on this side of the fence...hmm...now i have something else to look into. It's a mod that's cheap as hell, you can make your own if you want to, and at very least it should help our sluggish Throttle bodies open with a sense of urgency.

Bizarre. Well for starters always check for a good ground. An amplifier should be grounded to chassis, as close to the amplifier as possible.

I'll ask my installer about this problem and see what he says.

Alright, the only one I found is made by Stillen, Comes in either Red or Silver...too bad they don't have blue...bout $140, copper with gold-plated terminals. Hmm...might just have to get them and make a thread about them...Anybody want to donate to the cause? PM me to put some cash in my paypal, and I'll get right on it!!

I did that, use 4 gauge wire go from the battery to the chassis, chassis to block, alternator to battery.. Gave me 7 rwhp.. car idles smoother and the ecu has an easier time operating. I can tell
