i was pissed because no one had chenged mine in 7.5k.
and it's been changed every 3k ever since.
remember just because ford reccomends that you change it late like that, doesn't mean that you should wait that long.

I change mine every 6 months since I barly rack up 4K miles befor that.

Buy you some of the race ramps and drive up on them. It makes getting to the filter easy. After you do it once you will be wanting to change all your friends oil. I bet you will start changing it every 3000 after you learn to do it. I used to be apprehensive about doing my own work. Trust me one thing will lead to another and pretty soon you will be wanting to build a motor.
