hahahaha no seriously......if you can't find it you should be looking under the front of the car where the engine is. if you still can't find it maybe you shouldn't be changing your own oil. hahahahahaha j/k

Mustangworld- Changing your Mustang's Oil.

don't tell him to let someone else do it. that's how you don't learn anything.

it's much easier to see if you have a lift you can use. i'm just lucky enough.....or unlucky enough to be in the army and can just go on post and use the bays there.

When you find and remove the oil filter. Make sure the old rubber o-ring comes off with it, and isn't stuck to the block. Then ensure that you top up the new filter with oil before installing it, and smear a film of fresh oil on the new o-ring so that it seals properly.

It's not bad, but is a shortcut so that's less oil to pour down from up top. Helps get the oil in quicker, etc.

If you're taking the filter off for the first time, get ready to wrestle with it....

You'll prolly need one of these $2 claws wrenches from Wally's:

And the oem filter will look like this after you remove it with the above claw:

Don't worry about the filter - it's being replaced by a shiny new one, remember?
