Maaco Builds A Mustang

Read The Article on the homepage.

Beginning with a stock 2006 Mustang GT, Maaco solicited help from Bolt-Onz Luxury and Performance Specialties in Abington, Pennsylvania to handle the performance modifications. This slick ride lays down an impressive 550 horsepower delievered via a roots style supercharger borrowed from the S281 Saleen. Power is delivered to the ground via a 6 speed manual transmission and chrome 20″ Saleen wheels.

550 is no child's play... did it not say anything about the block or was it just me?

20 inch saleen wheels are about the only 20s i don't like. The car looks ok,power is good, but Maaco sucks,i wasted $2000 there on a paint job for a c4 vette i had a while back.Prep sucked...paint was no way PPG like they said it would be,and a less than a year later (about 5000 miles)the front looked like i was shoot up with an AK-47......It faded, they painted on the existing weather striping and didn't even remove the front or rear bumper covers, over spray all over my polished stainless full hedders and exhaust, engine compartment....i could go on for hours...

Saleen makes a mustang called the Saleen extreme S281 E which has 550 hp It uses a 4.6 but builds the crank pistons and heads to be able to turn up the boost a bit more than the S281 SC (400hp ) which is set at about 2 lbs for warranty purposes. The Saleen extreme is one badass car that I'd love to own but you can keep the maaco paintjob. Norm

The Saleen blower that is used in the S281 is a twin screw, not a roots blower type. Whoever wrote that article was seriously snoozing.
