Back to track on 16 lbs

Went back to track last night, for the first time on race tune. Lance behind the wheel of course. We stayed on 16 lb tune and left the 20 alone. In fact, we decided not to try the 20 until the full cage goes in (scheduled in 9 days). Safety first, fun second, times third.

Six runs

10.721 at 124.89, 1.471 60 foot
10.761 at 124.64, 1.460
10.767 at 126.77, 1.486
10.693 at 125.08, 1.477
10.689 at 125.40, 1.458
10.669 at 125.29, 1.458

quick vids from last night

Damn Steven you are going to force me into a Twin Turbo project, I can see it coming already. I am already going to swap in an auto to keep up and now I am not sure the KB will get me where you will be in a few weeks....I think a call to THP will be in order on my return from offshore..haha

On paper looks possible, but in reality we're thinking 10.2 maybe, now that the humidity is locked in until October. But 9s is very possible by the end of 2008. There's about 28 lbs of boost waiting to be tapped from the 76mm. We just have to get the fuel and some other limitations sorted.

force me into a Twin Turbo project
I bet Powerhouse can hook you up with even a bigger single than mine. He's very good at building custom units. Gotta tell you, it's a blast seeing Lance go up against non-street legal, gutted tubbed drag racers and give them hell. There were very few street legal cars out there friday. They just about called us liars, when we told them the car was street legal, had a/c and weighed 3600 lbs.

Yeah maybe a single 88mm with a 150 shot to get it off the line.....DAMN see what I 'm talking about...If the rear end works out and they can get into a stout trans then I think the KB will be gone and a turbo with some nitrous will be in order....haha

I've had fast cars for 35 years and as I approach 60, my fast driving days are pretty much over. Had V12 sports Jaguar way back in 72, C5Z06 and Viper in recent times. Bought this mustang as a project and me driving it at the track was never part of the plan. But I will track it sooner or later. I won't be on the transbrake though. It might make good video. Not everyday you'll see an 800+ hp car go down the1/4, with the driver waving and changing the CD disc player.

Oh....and can't ever remembering having so much fun with a car. Mustang is great automobile modded or 100% stock

So Steve, is this your only toy, or are you going to also have a cool street car to tool around in?

Assuming you don't already have one, that is. lol

You can't technically run in the street class, at least not at NHRA or IHRA sactioned tracks. Any car that runs 11.49 or faster is too fast for the street category and will be moved to footbrake (can't use trans brake) or super pro.

Given all that, you still have an awesome car!

super pro
You're right. It is an NHRA sanctioned track and car is running in the super pro class. The only disadvantage at this time, is that the car does not have a delay box, but will soon enough. On friday during bracket racing, Lance was in the second round and dialed in at 10.68. He broke-out because he ran a 10.66. Winning and losing is measured in 100ths. Car made 6 runs friday and only 0.098 (less than 1/10th) seconds separated slowest from fastest runs.

Pic shows time slips of two of his three 10.6 runs. Yellow slip was during bracket racing and shows dialed in time
