Dont know exactly. I just know it will. The computer thinks the car is lean and dumps fuel into the mixture. If you havent done any type of tune.

I am wondering the same thing, I emailed Brent at brenspeed lastnight about the whole Mils or no mils and running rich etc well here is his repsonse....

Rob,

Mil’s do not make a car run rich or lean once it has ran for a minute. As a matter of fact the 02 sensors adjust your air fuel to be perfect. I doubt it is running rich and you are likely just smelling fumes from not having cats which is very common.

So to answer your question MIL’s have been banned by the EPA and are no longer available. If you don’t have a check engine light on now your rear 02’s are turned off so you don’t need MIL’s anyway.

The rear 02’s only check to see if the cats are working. They are not used to adjust fueling like the front 02 sensors.

Subject: SCT2 X-Cal

To whom it may concern,

I bought the X-cal2 and JLT CAI intake from you back in late 06 I didn't get the data cable to hook the scanner up to a laptop. Is this sold seperately? Also after I bought that I had L/T's with a O/R x-pipe and no cats. When they installed them they did not put mil-elimenators on it. Now it running rich. If I put a set of mils on it would this correct the problem or do I need to get my tune redone as well? And how much do you sell the mils for?

And something I left out in my email, when it's colder out and I start up first thing in the a.m. it has a tendancy to stall out once it starts it spits and sputters with alot of gas vapors....rich! FYI I did go in on my 89 tune and kick back the fuel/air back 4 with my X-Cal. And it's still a bit rich it seems on start up.

I didnt say mils make the car run rich. I said non functioning 02s make the car run rich and basically brenspeed agree. Mils correct this to an extent by tricking the car.

He said what i said, the 02s adjust the a/f to be perfect. Shut them off and dont tune your and it will run rich. datalog it.

Call mac, they will explain to you that you have three choices. go offroad and get mils, go o/r and get a tune, go off road and shut your o2s off and run rich.

And yes mils are banned. and o/r setups are illegal for street use. But i know you guys are buying this stuff for the race track right?

which is probably why he is downplaying the need. It has become more and more difficult to get them. I heard there are fines for selling them to people now.

Im not sure whether this is a fine period or a just if you sold them to someone knowing they were for street use.

Im not even sure if I will be willing to sell them anymore or if the distributor i got them from the last time will still sell them to me.

I am going to have to find out what the ban is exactly. I mean technically and o/r setup is only allowed to be sold for................. OFF ROAD use. So what next fines for selling that. What is the difference really.
