umm i would sand them with some fine sand paper get it nice and smooth. Makes it easier to bond anyway...then clean it off. Your good to go with the spray after that. 3 coats does a good job...

And BlacJac im getting the pipe insulation this weekend...haha

Ok i bought the paint, gloss, sand paper, jlt2, and insulation. I need some pointers on removing and re-installing. I am thinking of maybe doing it this week or next.

i dont want this to sound like im being an ass, but just unhook everything, unbolt the valve covers, if you care doing the TB be carefull cause i think there are little springs in there that are easy to lose.

when putting the valve covers back on BE CAREFUL with the bolts i had one break on me when i was putting my K&N intake, i was a bitch to get it out, lol.

well for starters you don't need the gloss...i didn't use it and it came out pretty shiny haha...just save some money thats all.....

1. Unplug everything IE coil plugs, fuel injector plugs....
2. Unbolt the valve covers...theres a ton of bolts for it...
3. Sand the valve covers till you get that nice aluminum look.
4. Clean off the valve covers with rubbing alcohol.
5. Paint them 3 coats...1rst being very light so you don't get any runs...
6. Reverse order and put everything back on...

Oh and tape the breather hose on the valve cover for the JLT hose...and all other holes.....3M painters tape works best...

Now for the throttle body..

Take it off with the 4 bolts on it...Unplug it before that...DON"T TAKE ANYTHING OFF!! Just tape over the sensors on each side (all the black), the inlet hole, and the back side inlet hole and your good for paint...then reverse it and put it back on.....

reps yo!

Isnt it a little bit more tedious? I mean the gasket sounds like it could be disastrous easily. Idk ill keep reading and when I get up the nerve to do it I will just do it. Maybe have a buddy help me (turbolx) lol.

Nope none here....if you are concerned then I definitely should reconsider the idea. Your write up seemed simple enough and I guess I do have some knowledge about the workings of engines just not much experience in the actual work
