Pypes v. Borla Exhaust?

Hey,
I am in the process of ordering my exhaust. I was looking at the frpp stingers for axle backs. Someone suggested to me that the pypes mid-muffler catback is similar in sound to the stingers, is this true? I know i love the deep stinger growl. I don't want it to be overly loud just very deep with nice tone. I will be getting an catted H or catted prochamber mid-pipe with long tubes. Thanks

I love the way my mid-mufflers sound. It does have a nice deep sound to it.

how loud are the mids? i've heard the borlas and they almost seem like they can be quieter than the stock mufflers at idle. i'll be doing LT's with em so it should make it a little louder

I have the Pypes Mid-Mufflers and they scream at WOT, and are nice and mellow at about 1800 RPM. Nice deep rumble. I love them (but I despise the fitment issues)

Hangers aren't lined up great. Aligning the tailpipes is impossible.

good thing about axle backs. You dont even have to jack the car up to change them man. You will happy with the stingers.

I have the Borla Stingers, and they are not quiter than stock at idle. They actually have a nice old school rumble. They arn't a whole lot louder than stock though when cruising, but when first taking off, and in higher RPM's, along with WOT, they roar pretty good. They do however get much louder, and sound great with an O/R H or Prochamber. At WOT they are killer with the O/R pipe, but cruising, you get a nice low rumble without any annoying drone.

A little late it seems, but anyway, I installed a set of pypes mid mufflers on my car yesterday evening. They do sound great! Could be a hair louder, but that will come when I do LTs. I do have to get back under the car tomorrow to see if I can get the tailpipes straight though. Fought for an hour and a half just trying to get them straight and finally gave up for the day. May have to get a little persuasive with them.

No problem, were all here to help eachother out. Also, you could do it like I plan on doing, and just swap out the O/R H for inspections. Hell it's only once a year anyway.

mm very true. i think a shorty o/r H is only like 160 bucks so it's not a bad idea, i'll see how i like the sound when i get it if it's not loud enough i may do just that
