Emay where you at the car show at the Myers in Rolling Meadows on Friday? I thought i saw you pulling in along with a gray cobra as i was leaving.

That was me and my brother.. Yes we were there.

I made the truck out to that Mt Prospect Car show on Saturday that the shop class was passing flyers out for in the Meijer lot as well.

I'll be up there most nice Friday's, stop over if you catch us again..

No no, not down, That's what Monday's at work do to me. Just would rather be working on someone elses car for extra coin, you know that. This is a gravey fix as there is no trans rebuild required. Trans is still in the car, just opened up with the tail shaft removed.

Sounds like the warranty might get approved, via some dumb luck with my brother and his management at Dodge/Chrysler. They are simply pushing a claim over stating that I dropped the car there due to convenience of their location (acting as if I couldn't move the car much further without tow) and that this is what they found wrong with it. Sounds like it may go through.. I'll know more this evening hopefully.

good luck on the warranty....

I guess I'm lucky and have a good dealer. they rebuilt my tranny after a mishap. not one word to me blower and all!

I'm with soonerstang on that one, that looks like a stress fracture in a weak spot on the casing. That thing shouldn't crack like that, you definitely have a case for it being a faulty part, though I could see the dealership making fuss that it shouldn't have been handling as much force as your engine puts on it.

Damn...that's why I never do a 5-3 drop over 60 m.p.h. With my 3.73's shifting into 3rd at 80 I'm too close to redline to justify the extra shift as opposed to losing a couple hundred r.p.m.s and taking it down to 4th (it'll still bark the tires

). Sorry to hear about your dilemma and hope everything works out for ya...

Good news - arranged and met live face to face with Ford warranty rep today and the replacement part is going to be covered. Just need to work out a few details on what the tail shaft housing entails in regards to inclusive parts such as bearings and seals. rep believes they come installed already, Service Manager believes they do not. Was too late to figure out so I'll be getting a call back tomorrow.
