i have heard different opinions on them............but all in all, i think it came down to being n/a or fI...........i think they where helping the guys with turbos and chargers, but not really the naturally aspriated thing.

I don't think they are a wise purchase. THe stock coils put plenty of fire to the plugs.

well i have heard of the spark being "blown" out if the gap is set to much when using nitrous (or even a charger')...........so a little hotter spark might not hurt, actually might save your engine if you ask me, but hell, what do i know, im still runnin' 13s lol

I got the accel coils but I had 2 stockers go bad.The MSD coils are the same as stock. The accel are 60,000 v the Granitelli (sp ?) are 60,000 v. I never seen any power gains.

The only chance you might have of seeing more power with aftermarket coils is the fact that you can run a wider gap when under boost...I guess it has something to do with a wider flame-front...dunno. For nitrous, you shouldn't have to gap your plugs down (little if any) or increase spark voltage because you're not moving a larger volume of air through the cylinders, just a more oxygen-rich mix. The reason our engines get such bad blowout under boost is because the plugs aren't shrouded very well and the increased velocity of the larger air charge having to get in and out of the engine won't let them light. Shouldn't be an issue with NOS though...

Burned Valves
anytime u run a hotter spark , by way of plugs, coil, spark advancers , etc u have to check with {in our case maybe ford racing tec} to see if a hotter spark will cook the valves????

No. Your spark will not cook valves. Running lean will.

how lean are we talking about>?? if our cars get lean enough to do damage we go into limp mode, can we do damage with a lean code light on , but yet not in limp mode??

The lean comment was a generalization...since our friend Procharger is running Nitrous, and it doesn't take long for damage to occur if the extra fuel is in the mix. But we're getting off the subject....Procharger, if you have a stock coil go bad, might as well upgrade, but to replace stockers just because...that money would be more helpful elsewhere IMO.

I installed msd's on my wifes stock gt as well as mine at the track and hers picked up .07 and mine picked up .09 on the juice. Depends on how serious you are about getting every hp out of your car. there are many other mods that will give you a lot more hp and gain for equal or less dollars, but if all the other mods are done then why not.
