New to the boardBought my 06 GT last winter and have started working on it. Great bunch of people here with a good sense of humor to boot. Been reading the posts for awhile and have learned alot about these cars already. Have done mostly body mods and wheels so far. I decided that after reading all here that my first under the hood mod would be a supercharger kit. I happened to find a good deal on a whipple H.O. kit. I plan on doing the install myself. It seems pretty basic. My main concern is the tune and finding a good dyno shop in San Antonio. Not very computer literate but I get by. Will post some pics when I figure out how. |

welcome, nice choice in SC.
for the tuning you can go w/ the ford tune which is safe and conservative emailed custom tune or dyno tune i dont live in SA area, so cant help you w/ that where you ordering the HO kit from, maybe they have tuning options w/ the package. |

Wow that was quick. Thanks for the link to upload the pics Redfire. I bought the H.O. kit from a bud here in town. He had it on his car and it worked great. He put less than 1,000 miles on it with the SC and decided to trade it in on a Charger. He thought a dealer would be scared of the SC on the car so he took it off. I bought the whole kit minus the Ford Cal tool which he lost. I have not checked with Ford yet to see if I can buy just the tool setup with the Ford tune. Or, I thought I might buy an SCT and have a good shop set me up a safe tune and have the features of the sct available. I rode in his car and he was running 3.55 gears with the 5spd. I was very impressed. It had alot more than my stock GT. I am running 4.10's and that might be a little better still with the SC. I am not looking to max it out. I want to keep the drive train mostly stock except maybe a better clutch down the road and
the rear control arms. Giving a try for the pics, ![]() ![]()

Thanks, I can't believe i got the pictures up lol. Cool story about the emblems Blac. I get razzed a little by my friends because the car obviously is not a cobra. But you know Ive been down that road many times before. At my age now I am just building it the way I see it in my head and also not to the dreaded too far it looks tacky situation. I have looked at alot of the pics of the cars on this forum and you guys have some awesome cars and should really be proud of them. I was not a big fan of the newer muscle cars a few years ago. But when i saw the first 05 in person it struck me right away. These cars really are nice for the price and very easy to add power to.
Have loved evry minute driving it. Good to see Detroit hasn't gone totally brain dead. |
