Rear Emblem

I was just wondering has anyone ever removed the rear ford gt emblem from the trunk? And if so... how?

Leave it on there. Chrome accents add a nice touch to these cars imo. Plain just looks boring & dull.

I pulled it entirely off the car to do mine.. Slipped a little 20# test fishing line behind it to get it started and then worked around the edge with my fingers to get it off.

I then scuffed it with red scotch scuff pad, primed and painted..

Yours looks awsome though. Without it, it just looks very bland imo.

Funny; I thought that's the side most people see of his car.

I pulled mine! Its a pain. Used a heat gun! I had to use 200 proof alcohol to get the sticky shit off the trunk lid. Nothing else would work. I am soon going to take off my cdc rear deck lid panel because it is getting old and crappy looking. I am then going to have the lock shaved and the decklid repainted. But this time to get the sticky shit off I am using orange terpenes. That shit will get anything off.

I just had to get all the sticky shit off from the stock spoiler and that is a nightmare.

Next time bypass the heat gun for starters, all you did there is soften and activate the adhesive. If you leave it in it's cold state (even taking care to stay out of the sun) then things go much better. You can actually just take your thumb and roll the 3m tape off the decklid. Any stubborn pieces or residue just come back over it with goof off, adhesive remover, or even a wd40.

I did it over a couple of days and the heat gun was to only get the emblem off. I actually tried taking the adhesive off the next day when it was cool and it didnt roll off like you said. It did to a point but my thumbs were freaking raw. I tried goof off and that didnt help much so I went to work and used the 200 proof alcohol and that worked the best. I will use orange terpenes next time that stuff is the best.

Has anyone tried out the Tru-Billet Rear Medallion Black - Classic? If so was it a hard install? got pics?

I have been itching to slap that on.
