IIRC the power cable for a Passport is a phone calbe, so just run that to the power wire to the stereo headunit.

one note, from what ive heard passport actually switched up the wires. red should be ground, and green is power.

and yes, go to the radio, and just use a T-tap.

for my valentine i tapped into the radio and just grounded to the metal bar behind the head unit.

How do you like that valentine? I've been looking at those for quite a while. Pretty expensive, but seem pretty good.

Thumper, I have owned both and now only own the 8500. I have driven coast to coast from CA to PA many, many times and have never had a miss with the 8500, and if you have to deal with lasers anywhere you'll be glad you had the 8500. No tickets yet (knock on wood).

okay, i had an 8500 X50 that i traded in for the valentine, and let me say, there is no comparison.

i was driving by a place that always falses, my X50 would always false, and my valentine would always false, so i tend to ignore the alert. well, the other day i was driving by the place, and i got the false, but the valentine picked up 2 signals and told me. once you use the bogey count and the directional arrows, you can never not use a valentine again.

^ +1. i love my valentine. i've driven from texas to ohio and back and to oklahoma multiple times. never any problems at all. i'll keep the valentine for it's ability to show you how many signals it is picking up and from what direction.

i didn't hardwire mine in though. just used a standard phone wire and ran it through the headliner, down the side, behind the dash, under the center console, and plugged into the extra power outlet in the center console.

Hardwire in both cars and just tuck the power cord under the head liner when it isn't in the car.
