Altitude/stalling question.

Does anyone know if moving a mustang from sea level to the mile high city (Denver) would make a difference?

Also I was wondering if anyone knew the solution to this problem- I have an automatic, I was driving up to a red light, and my car died. After some tinkering, I managed to turn it back on and go the the next red light, as I slowed down, it died again on me. I'm very concerned, because it kept dying and I ended up rolling home in neutral. Does anyone have any idea what this is or if it's altitude related? (I just bought my car from NJ)

Is it possible that your gas is bad, maybe the fuel pump, or a clogged fuel line.?

Yes, it will make a huge difference. Sorry to say, but your car is gonna feel much slower. If you take your car to the track you will see it in your e.t.'s
Yes, bad gas or you want to check with the dealer for the fuel pump tsb

Yes, your car will be slower here, but it shouldn't run as badly as you describe.

Service guy at the stealership told me they don't do anything special to the cars they sell here... the computer compensates. Is your car stock?

No mine has several upgrades including a supercharger. View my pics if you need to. So far, I reset this code reader, and it hasn't stalled in 2 days, so that's good news I suppose.

if it's got a supercharger on it, it probably needs a new tune. I don't know much about that stuff, but it seems like your a/f could be off.

AdvocateofGod - First like the name and second being in Denver with a supercharger myself I would have to conclude that you need a new tune for the higher elevation. I bet that solves your problem. Good luck and hope you enjoy our mile high city!!!

Alrighty, I'll try for a new tune. And actually, I've been in CO for about 18 years. But I bought the car 'from' the East coast. But I can definitely say, I love my new car!

If you got a s/c I wouldn't worry about it. You might feel a slight difference. A new tune may help.

+1

anytime that you have a supercharger and change elevation like this, you have to watch A/F ratios...
