not a big fan of Turbo's, but from what I've read on other forums the 2 good turbo kits seem to be.

1. Hellion
2. Powerhouse

Twin seems hard to beat, but then again, are you running a stock block and stock internals? If so, the single would be more than enough.

I have a Powerhouse turbo. Hellion no doubt is a good product but several posters (on other forums) complain about ground clearance issues. That made me shy away.

I don't know much about car mechanics and that includes difference between single and twin turbos. Certainly "twin turbo" may roll off the tongue better than just "turbo" and make for a better decal or emblem. I'm very happy with my single 76mm. On what I would call an almost timid tune (very low timing), it produced 680 rwhp/735 rwtq at 20 lbs of boost. The 76m is capable of about 1100 hp at about 28 lbs of boost. I will definitely seek a more aggressive tune in late September (when the extreme heat/humidity starts to decline). Would like to go up to 25 lbs of boost also. Then just added a 200 shot wet nitrous system to help with present temps/humidity. So there's plenty of potential from a good size single turbo. I went from a 67mm to a 76mm...so if around 1200 hp is not enough...I'll get the 88mm single...lol

if your not building your engine you dont even need 76mm, i would stay at like 67mm.

Actually I consider myself a newbie. My only experience with this kind of stuff is watching people like Lance build the car and also drive it at the track. I can only report my experiences with this one vehicle. Not qualified to offer really technical advice.

That's really a good point because a turbo setup is a little tricky...you don't want one too small or too large for your application. Seems like, larger the turbo...larger the moving parts to get moving...potential for lag. Certainly noticed some lag between the 67mm and 76mm. In our case, other mods like transbrake, address the lag factor.

I would give Mike Bowen a call at Powerhouse (Powerhouse411.com). He's very good at discussing personal needs/goals and providing options. I started talking to him months before I spent any money with him. You can mention steven/lance from south Louisiana. His base 67mm really is ample for most folk. I upgraded from the 67 to a 76.
