Although mine gets 28-30 on the highway, I also get around 12 in town. If I really baby it, and short shift it, I can get 14-15 in town.

For best mileage in town, you should be barely touching the throttle, using just enough to get rolling. Your 1-2 shift should be done asap, like at about 12-1400 rpm. The rest of your shifts should be done around 2000 rpm. If you have 4.10's like me, you can even catch 5th gear once you hit about 35-40 mph, although you will get better mileage in 4th at 35 mph if you're doing anything other than coasting or rolling gently.

Well yeah, Luis, it takes your car an extra 25% to run that belt connected to the "I Hate Luis" subengine.

I get about 15mpg in the city, and thats with some pretty spirited driving. But I also throw it in 5th at 35mph at times (I have 4.10's).
Have you tried getting a different tune?

A tune and intake will improve mpg.

When I had my 3.55 and it was all stock I got about 27mpg on the highway. With the JLT and 93 tune I got it up to 29.7mpg.

No it wont, a good tune and intake will fuck with your gas foot pretty serverely and there goes the mpg's again.

I dont drive lmy 06 alot, so when I do I enjoy it, mine tells me I average 16.9 mpg and I RARELY get on the interstate with it, so that is mainly city driving. I think you should be getting better than 11 or 12 mpg....

I was getting around 17 in town with my dyno tune loaded. I switched back to Doug's 93 and I'm back up to the low 18's. Never got in the 12's - something must be amiss.

yeah maybe ill take it to ford and have them look...i figure its worth a shot seeing as i still got my full warranty. I know its a v8 and isnt meant for gas mileage but 12 is abnormally low. I am driving very easy and using cruise control at all possible times to help out the mpg but i gotta find out whats up

I've only got 800 miles on my 08 with 3.31's, and my first couple of tanks netted 15.9 to 16.1 mph pure city driving. Not bad for the break in period. I hate to hear that you are getting such stink-o mileage. Something doesn't sound right.
